Harvie Krumpet
Harvie Krumpet
Made by- Adam Elliot
Narrated by- Geoffrey Rush
the size of the models are the size of wine bottles because Adam Elliot had a twitch, and it would of been hard to do the detail if they were small.
The materials that Adam used were plasticine (for the arms) car bog (for the head and torso) and wood (for the set)
Harvie Krumpet was made in October 2001-January 2003 (editing finished in Mat 2003).
It has won an Academy Award for Best Short Animation and 40 more major awards!
Elloit does not use computers to improve the look of the animation because he hoped people can relate to Harvie's life and see a little bit of him in themselves.
"I want people to feel his pain."- he doesn't use computers so he can keep the same dark lighting through out.
advantages for a filmmaker that are using physical models as characters is that it makes it look real and they can use real props for the animated characters to use. Also it makes it look more realistic.
The disadvantages of using physical models to tell a story is they can get damaged or broken or even lost and have to be made again or replaced, which will also take up valuable time.
Elliot's tremor contributed to the style of his animation to make an organic feel 'chunky-wonky' style that fed itno his style. the characters look like that because of his disorder.

What is limited animaiton?
Limited animation is when a scene or an animation is repeated again through the animation itself.
For example: in Yogi Bear's Big Break
The cars are repeated, when coming in to the 'Jellystone Park' and they go past Yogi Bear and Boo Boo Bear, the cars go round in circles in and out of the scene.
Hanna-Barbera used limited animation allot because it was cheap to do and so it saved them money and time to make the animation.
I tried the limited animation with my friend Dek with a ball going up and down, showing it repeating itself again and again, I only had to film it once going up and down then all I and to do after that was copy and pasted the same images that I took to make the video so it would repeated itself again and again and I could of still copy and pasted the images and make the video longer if I wanted to but I only wanted to show that i could do it and a tester to find if it would work or not in an animation.
And this is our results:

Sweeny Todd-Tim Burton
This is truly the closest film he has made that suites his way of making films, all his films cannot top this movie as Sweeny Todd has the most things that Tim Burton is known for, for example:
- the characters have dark circles around their eyes
- it a musical (some of his animations are musical)
- the story is dark
- very Gothic
- scary, as it's bloody and gruesome
- depressing
- deadly
- even at the happy parts of the movie is still sad looking
- and evil
