I'm not very keen on Monty Python, its a bit lame and not funny and I don't get it at all, this was the only video I could find that didn't annoy me as much as the other videos, I don't even get the joke of this animation. The video of the 'Black Night' was okay because of the cutting arms bit (very gruesome! :D )
The going downstairs bit I think was too long, it made me want to get off the video and watch something else, its rough it looks hard and not nice...pretty sad. :(
I didn't like finding out about Monty Python as it's not my sort of thing or it's not that interesting to get me finding stuff about it. This would probably be the last thing on my mind if I had to find out about animation.
The good thing about this is one sort of animation as Monty Python created this with cut out photos and with a random mind. (not my sort of liking when it comes to randomness)
What is it about/ what happens?
Well it starts of with an animated guy in a room that looks quiet and he's writing or drawing the title for 'The Tales Of Sir Lancelot' then a massive thumping noise goes of in the background making him dodge and ruins a Caligrathy what looks to have taken a very long time to do. (Over the top a bit) The whole room shakes and moves every time you hear the thumping noise, and so the man goes and finds out what it is and he goes down a flight of stairs, very long (boarded me because it took too long) and half way down he falls but you don't see him fall and you hear a loud noise of objects falling and him making a scream. Then you see him at the bottom of the stairs going through a corridor through a door leading outside the castle he's in. Outside there is three clouds and a sun with legs jumping up and down, then he says to them 'stop that, stop that, go on clear off, go away, go away' then the clouds move out of the scene to the side, 'and you, clear off' he says then the sun goes down in the distance, and it ends with the joke of him saying 'uhh, bloody weather...' (tut tut)
How it's made:
They used cut out pictures and drawings and stuck them together or put movement on them to make an animation, they took loads and loads of pictures moving them a fraction at a time (i think) then it all came together with an animation of moving cut out pictures.
Describe the style of the animation:
It's old as the picture isn't clear and the sound. The video is dark, there's small lighting.
The style of the animation is very quirky, and sharp, there's no music in the background until the end of the video. Making it quite simple and straight forward.
How would this have been more difficult to make then that it would be to make now?
As we have more technology and equipment to use to make the animation better or change it in any ways we want today..but back then..it would of been hard and it would of probably taken longer time to make as they only had limited technology that can process the animation or video in the way they want to and to it's best...but if it was wanted better today..it would be changed with clearer picture, more lighting, more graphics or materials, it would have maybe put with special features like a blue-ray disc, maybe even add music in the background to get more people looking at it.
